Created in 2021, this monumental mural is the third Prague work by Dede Bandaid and Nitzan Mintz, combining the duo’s signature visual and poetic language to explore themes of migration, longing, and displacement. Nitzan’s emotional poem, written during the COVID-19 pandemic, reflects on absence and the loss of belonging, while Dede’s characteristic bird—assembled from scraps of wood from demolished houses—symbolizes movement and the impact of gentrification on urban communities. At the time of its completion, the 20-meter-high artwork was the artists’ largest mural to date.
