Alpine ecosystem

Description

This mural represents an alpine landscape and some of the species that live in this ecosystem. Our Australian Alps are home to some unique species such as the critically endangered Stocky galaxias (Galaxias tantangara), Alpine she-oak skink (Cyclodomorphus praealtus), Alpine spiny crayfish (Euastacus crassus), Macquarie perch (Macquaria australasica) and Mountain pygmy possum (Burramys parvus). Flying over this landscape is the majestic Wedge tailed eagle (Aquila audax).
