Ard Doko (1991, Den Helder) is a Dutch graffiti artist, painter and writer.
As a 16-year-old, Doko started with graffiti in his hometown Callantsoog under the alias of Mister 5. Since 2010, in addition to his public art, he has also been working on canvas for galleries, combining street art and trash polka as a style.
In 2011, Doko made his American debut in Peoria (Illinois) by painting live a canvas of 30 metres wide and 4 metres high. Since that first American adventure, he travels to Peoria annually, to create and exhibit art there. He receives invitations for exhibitions and live painting sessions at various galleries in Amsterdam, Austria, Dubai and Turkey, the prestigious Blooom Art Fair in Cologne.
In 2017 Doko became part of the Amsterdam Street Art Foundation, where he writes articles on the culture and history of street art and graffiti.
The artist now lives and works in Schagen.

This portrait in the city center of his hometown is based on a painting the artist did for Go Gallery in Amsterdam. It's about celebrating your inner child as an adult. The characteristic style of Ard Doko is clearly visible in this mural; realistic black and white portraits with the exception of the eyes, which stand out in color.

Ard Doko (1991, Den Helder) is een Nederlandse graffitikunstenaar, schilder en schrijver. Als 16-jarige begon Doko met graffiti in zijn geboorteplaats Callantsoog onder het pseudoniem Mister 5. Sinds 2010 werkt hij naast zijn openbare kunst ook op doek voor galeries, waarbij hij street art en trash polka combineert als stijl.
In 2011 maakte Doko zijn Amerikaanse debuut in Peoria (Illinois) door live een doek van 30 meter breed en 4 meter hoog te schilderen.
Sinds dat eerste Amerikaanse avontuur reist hij jaarlijks naar Peoria om daar kunst te maken en tentoon te stellen. Hij krijgt uitnodigingen voor tentoonstellingen en live-paintingsessies bij verschillende galeries in Amsterdam, Oostenrijk, Dubai en Turkije, de prestigieuze Blooom Art Fair in Keulen.
In 2017 werd Doko lid van de Amsterdam Street Art Foundation, waar hij artikelen schrijft over de cultuur en geschiedenis van straatkunst en graffiti.
De kunstenaar woont en werkt nu in Schagen.

Dit portret in het centrum van zijn geboorteplaats is gebaseerd op een schilderij dat de kunstenaar maakte voor Go Gallery in Amsterdam. Het gaat over het vieren van je innerlijke kind als volwassene. De karakteristieke stijl van Ard Doko is duidelijk zichtbaar in deze muurschildering: realistische zwart-witportretten met uitzondering van de ogen, die opvallen door hun kleur.
