To celebrate 800 years of North Shields the Elevation Mural Festival was born. #NS800.
The Chase is one of 8 murals created for this celebration. What a mural it is!
An underwater clash between gannets and cormorants. Capturing the drama and beauty beneath the waves where river meets sea.
Taking a bold leap into the imagination, this mural immerses us in an underwater world where the River Tyne meets the North Sea.
Two diving gannets tussle mid-hunt over a herring, while a swift-moving cormorant darts past, eager to join the chase. Around them, seaweed sways with the tides, adding to the sense of motion and life beneath the surface.
With its flowing colours and dynamic composition, the artwork captures the energy, drama, and beauty of the hidden world just below the waves.
