"Apollo ed Euterpe"

Apollo, dio della musica e delle arti, era colui che trainava il carro del sole attraverso la volta celeste. Era anche il capo delle muse, tra cui Euterpe, musa della musica suonatrice dell'aulos.

Nel piccolo borgo di Placanica ho potuto ritrovare tutte queste cose. Il sole, che riarde e dona vita a queste terre nelle lunghe estati calabresi. L'arte, che abbellisce e valorizza il paese con i numerosi murales presenti nel centro storico. La musica, che nei primi anni del 900 portò un ragazzino, Attilio Rucano, a lasciare il piccolo borgo col sogno di diventare maestro d'orchestra, sogno che realizzò pienamente divenendo in seguito un compositore famoso in tutto il mondo.

"Apollo and Euterpe"

Apollo, god of music and the arts, was the one who pulled the sun's chariot across the heavens. He was also the leader of the muses, including Euterpe, the muse of music and the player of the aulos.

In the small village of Placanica, I found all these things. The sun, which burns and brings life to these lands during the long Calabrian summers. Art, which beautifies and enhances the town with the numerous murals in the historic center. Music, which in the early 1900s led a young boy, Attilio Rucano, to leave the small village with the dream of becoming a conductor, a dream he fully realized, later becoming a world-famous composer.
