Daniel Thouw started his creative journey during the 2nd generation of graffiti artists in Heidelberg- Germany. Here he developed his sense of shape, color and form in an autodidactic fashion. His fascination with the elements surrounding the letterform, led him to graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Art from the Laguna College of Art and Design in California, refining his involvement in the world of artistic expression.
The subjects of Thouw represent the creational process that is all around us in the reality we perceive.
They are somewhat humanized metaphors of the force that is creation itself.
Thouw’s vivid paint strokes and splashes of paint and color symbolize the constant movement that is inherent in all of nature and throughout the underlying wave and energy spectrum.
He observes nature and its repeating patterns that appear from very big to very small.
An atom with its nucleus and electrons spinning around it to our solar system with its sun and the planets orbiting it. A satellite picture of a river in comparison to a human vein. – Utilizing patterns and textures like these, incorporated within the composition of his characters, he creates his own subjective view of what all cultures try to define through religion and science since humanity as a species exists.
