Se faire monter la tête

‘Se faire monter la tête,’ which in French means ‘to think too highly of oneself.’

This collage is part of the series “Au pied de la Lettre” (To the letter) started by Les Murs ont des Oreilles in the autumn of 2020.
The expression Se faire monter la Tête is illustrated by two paintings.
The woman comes from the painting “L’ombre de l’Amour” created in 1867 by the British painter Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys.
The figure on the head comes from the painting “Portrait of Count Stanislas Potocki” created in 1780 by Jacques-Louis David, exhibited at the National Museum in Warsaw.
