For the first mural, of this project, we chose a monochrome blue palette, inspired by the blue and white of the Arnhem city crest. The artwork shows a stylized interpretation of Arnhem, with its buildings depicted as blossoming flowers: a city in bloom. The shapes of the clouds and leaves can also be read as flames or smoke, symbolizing a city that rises and flourishes again after the fire.

By using a limited color palette, the image remains calm and balanced, while the blue contrasts beautifully with the red brick street alongside the wall. It draws the viewer’s attention without being intrusive to its surroundings.
