Dit is De Vertelboom (ook bekend als de vertel- of verhaalboom), een muurgedicht en kunstwerk in de vorm van een boom. Het kunstwerk toont "de 10 takken van verwondering" gevuld met dichtregels. Het gedicht in boomvorm is aangebracht op de witte muur van het Paleis op de Meir. Het beeld gaat interactie aan met de oude esdoorn die er staat achter de muur. Het gedicht kadert in het stadsdichtersproject 'Bomenstad' met inburgerende, Nederlands lerende poëtische zielen; deze Vertelboom: elke tak ingevuld met verzen van een dichter uit een ander land, bijeengebracht door voormalig stadsdichter Peter Holvoet-Hanssen. Het kunstwerk is vormgegeven door Jelle Jespers in opdracht van Huis van het Nederlands / Antwerpen Boekenstad

This is The Story Tree (also known as the storytelling tree), a wall poem and artwork in the shape of a tree. The artwork depicts ‘the 10 branches of wonder’ filled with lines of poetry. The tree-shaped poem is painted on the white wall of the Paleis op de Meir (Palace on the Meir). The artwork interacts with the old maple tree standing behind the wall. The poem forms part of the ‘Bomenstad’ (Tree city) city poets’ project, involving poetic souls who are integrating into society and learning Dutch; this Story Tree: each branch filled with verses by a poet from a different country, brought together by former city poet Peter Holvoet-Hanssen. The artwork was designed by Jelle Jespers on commission from Huis van het Nederlands / Antwerpen Boekenstad
