Pin-up

On the front of the iconic ‘Sjors’ comic shop in Dordrecht is an image designed by the renowned Belgian comic artist Philippe Berthet, the original artist behind the famous erotic/historical comic series Pin-Up. Unlike the artworks on the side of the building, this one is unsigned, suggesting that it was probably applied to the building by an artist other than Philippe Berthet himself. The painting dates from 2002 and was refreshed in October 2022 to mark its 20th anniversary – a process that was repeated in August 2024.

Op de voorkant van de iconische stripwinkel Sjors in Dordrecht, bevindt zich een afbeelding die is ontworpen door de bekende Belgische striptekenaar Philippe Berthet, de oorspronkelijke tekenaar van de bekende erotische/historische stripreeks Pin-Up. In tegenstelling tot de kunstwerken aan de zijkant van het pand, is deze niet gesigneerd, wat erop wijst dat hij waarschijnlijk door een andere kunstenaar dat Philippe Berthet zelf op het pand is aangebracht. De schildering dateert uit 2002 en werd in oktober 2022 vanwege haar 20-jarig jubileum opgefrist – wat in augustus 2024 nogmaals gebeurde.
