Muurschildering van Leo Timmers en Urbana aan gemeentelijke basisschool 't Centrum.

Auteur en illustrator Leo Timmers groeide op in Houthalen en is vooral bekend van zijn prentenboeken en kleurrijke dierenfiguren.

Dit werk is Timmers' eerste echte mural. In het werk komt zijn herkenbare beeldtaal met dieren en figuren weer naar voren. Tegelijk verwijzen de verschillende elementen naar het leven en leren op school. Ook de plaatselijke harmonie kreeg een plaats in het ontwerp.

Timmers creëerde zelf de volledige illustratie. Het daadwerkelijke inkleuren op de enorme gevel werd uitgevoerd door Urbana.

Mural by Leo Timmers and Urbana at the municipal primary school ‘t Centrum.

Author and illustrator Leo Timmers grew up in Houthalen and is best known for his picture books and colourful animal characters.

This work is Timmers’ first proper mural. It once again showcases his recognisable visual style featuring animals and characters. At the same time, the various elements refer to life and learning at school. The local brass band was also given a place in the design.

Timmers created the entire illustration himself. The actual painting on the façade was carried out by Urbana.
