Chalchihuite

The mural is in the heart of the city, a stone's throw from Marienplatz, at front of the Museum there is a power electric plant that feeds the city, it has a more than 1200 square meters wall, so is the biggest mural in Munich. This proyect was supported by MUCA, The first Museum of Street Art in Germany, also with the support of the FONCA (National Fund for Culture and Arts in Mexico), this funds that are given by Secretaría de Cultura (Mexico's Culture Secretary) just to prestigious artists, because of the excellency of their professional work or because it's relevance.
MUCA (Museum of Urban And Contemporary Art) is the first german museum for urban art.
A stone’s throw from Marienplatz, the MUCA open its doors in a former substation on nearly 2,000 square meters. The façade of the MUCA was designed by the renowned street artist Stohead, thus becoming the art object itself. The museum visitor enters the building through a calligraphically designed “envelope”. The MUCA wants to create a connecting element between the interior and exterior space. This connection is important to us as it is intended to convey to the visitor that street art as an art form needs the public space as a discussion space. The interior space is a kind of protection and experimentation area.
