Hera (Jasmin Siddiqui) has been active as an artist since 2001, initially working alongside the artist Akut and now pursuing a solo career. Based in Frankfurt, she sees herself as a storyteller in public space. Her visual language combines figurative symbolism with typography, and impulsive, sketch-like lines with detailed, naturalistic painting. Underlying all of her work is a desire to give new value and appreciation to what is perceived as “ugly” or “imperfect” — whether on building façades, canvases, or in installations. Her guiding principle is: “There is something better than perfection.”
