I Thought You Were Someone Else

The large-scale mural depicts a young woman in a white dress, turning towards the viewer over her shoulder. She is surrounded by lush, highly stylized vegetation made up of leaves and flowers. The predominantly green and blue palette contrasts with the warm tones of the figure and the lighter, mosaic-like area behind her.

The approximately 25-metre-long mural was created in 2021 as part of the Vancouver Mural Festival and is a collaboration between Canadian muralist Jarus (Emmanuel Jarus) and artist Marcelline Siu. Siu lists the work on her portfolio under the title "I Thought You Were Someone Else", created for the 2021 Vancouver Mural Festival.

The mural is located on the façade of 1249 Granville Street in downtown Vancouver.
