Description

The image shows the prominent mural titled "Tor zur Welt" (Gateway to the World), located on the back of the Burggrafiat building along Antoniterstraße in Alzey, Germany.

The large-scale artwork was originally created in 1999 by Düsseldorf artist Klaus Klinger (from the Farbfieber association) as part of the "Local Agenda 21" initiative. It artistically explores themes of globalization, renewable energy, climate protection, and the environment, blending them with the local Rhine-Hessian cultural landscape, such as regional viticulture.

After the colors had faded significantly over the years, the mural was comprehensively restored and repainted in the summer of 2022 by Klaus Klinger and Cuban artist Humberto Martínez.
