Tarahumara Women

Artist Paola Martinez (@HellowPaola) captures these beautiful Tarahumara women just "chillin". Also known as the Raramuri culture (referring specifically to the men), there are between 50-70,000 in the area of Chihuahua in Mexico. During the time of Spanish conquest, this group moved to the recesses of Copper Canyon, thereby maintaining their culture, language, and dignity. They are under pressure today to conform to a more Spanish based language culture. They are known for their long distance running practice and abilities.
