Wild Chicken

Description

An oversized chicken’s head with wide-open eyes and a gaping beak dominates this colourful mural on a residential building in Ludwigshafen.

Covering approximately ten square metres, the graffiti was created by GRAFFITImotion for the women’s motorcycle club “Wild Chicken”. The artists describe the chicken as a visual reference to the club’s name. According to their account, the image is intended to express a spirit of adventure, untamed energy and a passion for motorcycling. The dynamic marks surrounding the head reinforce the deliberately unruly character of the composition.

Through its bold and immediate visual language, the work combines a humorous animal portrait with the identity of the club. At the same time, it transforms the appearance of the otherwise plain grey house façade.
