In December of 2022, the City of El Paso unveiled a new mural they had commissioned that runs almost the entire length of a retaining wall above a shopping center. The mural features patterns based on traditional Mexican embroidery as well as Native American markings found on Apache clothing and basket weaving. The mural also features native plants and animals and a poem by a local poet, Bobby Byrd. The mural that was here before captured icons from all over the city but was very old and degraded. In addition to the artists listed above, the following are also acknowledged in the official write-up. Alexa Herrerape, Caleb Jimenez, Angel Ochoa Pena, Tino Ortega, Bear, and Babak Tavakoli.
