Berlin to Benalla

‘Berlin to Benalla’. Berlin-based @dxtrtheweird has created a complex visual connection between his home town and Benalla, especially for the @benallastreetartfestival. Using his well-known pixelation style, he has created a combination of German and Aussie animals and symbols. We can see the city logos of both Benalla and Berlin - that German bear is the centrepiece of the first wall. DXTR standing in front of it gives an idea of the scale. We see the Australian frill-necked lizard, a koala, an ant and a honeyeater. There’s also a peace dove, a snake and an ant. The rose is a common symbol for both cities, and if you look closely, you’ll see the names of both cities spelled out.

You'll find it at the back of Cheap as Chips, in the laneway that leads from Nunn St to the Denny St carpark.
