LIBERA - EMPATIA SERIES
Murals created in 2020 in a deconsecrated convent in Marseille.
The nuns “Victim Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus” had lived inside the monastery since 1843. The sisters led a cloistered life and had taken a vow of silence.
The work is a sound painting that blends with the architecture; the arcades, the windows, the floor, suggest a place full of silence and this mural contrasts with the place. it is a tribute to freedom, a cry, a cry muffled by the painting itself.
When we give free rein to our emotions, they no longer feel scary.
