“So Close – So Far Away.”

The third Street Art Streets ‘Young Talent Block’ by Lisa Berkouwer from The Hague is complete. The title is “So Close – So Far Away.” The concept of day and night—featuring light inside and darkness outside on one side, and the reverse on the other—works brilliantly on the block. It almost looks like there is a real window leading into another world. We are very proud of this young talent, who also seized the opportunity with this project to work with spray paint for the first time. If you’d like to see this one in person, take a stroll over to the Havenkwartier and enjoy this lovely temporary square.

With this project, we are giving young makers and the muralists of the future the opportunity to gain experience creating murals on commission or in collaboration with parties such as Street Art Streets. We provide guidance where necessary and cover the cost of some materials from our Foundation, along with a contribution from the neighborhood Havenkwartier. The Project Developer from BKN-xl and the Gemeente Deventer helped bring this temporary neighborhood square & this concrete block to life for this project at the Havenkwartier #InDeventer.
