Description

The artwork is reminiscent of the rural Kanaaleiland area from 70 years ago, when there were several farms. Those had to make way for housing. One of those farms was called Transweik. Before leaving, the farmer expressed the wish that the name of his agricultural business should live on. That happened: the new neighborhood was given the name Transwijk (with ij).

The project was made possible thanks to the enthusiastic initiative of Wieger Rozema, Ted de Wit, and the ZuidWest Neighborhood Office.

==========
