The residents of Thorbeckelaan wanted a new painting on the electricity box in their street and were allowed to provide input for three designs and choose which one would ultimately end up on the wall!

Leo Heusdens, together with Joost Luijben, made a design in which they chose to enlarge a number of city birds and depict them on the wall. Ever since cities have existed, there have been birds that also consider the city their home. Due to the large size and the use of planes and points, the image is somewhat more abstract 'up-close', while at a greater distance it looks more realistic. The birds depicted are the magpie, the sparrow and the starling.
