Om Gurung has become the first Gurkha in the UK to become a Freeman of a borough. Not only that, the former Gurkha sergeant major has also written himself into the history books locally as he has become the first ever man to become a Freeman of Nuneaton and Bedworth since the borough council was formed in 1974.
