Location: Grey Street Arcade, main entry is next to 45 Grey Street

In this mural artist Sam Allen has captured an underwater world that’s fascinated him since childhood. Born in Tauranga, each creature holds a special memory. Painted in a trompe-l'œil style, the artwork is an optical illusion, suggesting viewers can see deep into the blue watery depths.

This artwork was part of Allen’s January 2021 exhibition ‘Wild side’ presented at the Incubator Creative Hub. It was commissioned as part of the Activate Vacant Spaces initiative.
