Pukkelpop in Kiewit is niet alleen een ijzersterk muziekfestival. Het festival besteedt - samen met SAGA en de jeugddienst van de stad Hasselt - ook de nodige aandacht aan urban culture.

PKP DWNTWN, een gratis festival in de Hasseltse binnenstad, plaatst skate, live street art en muziek in de spotlights. Tijdens Pukkelpop zelf is er een PKP DWNTWN zone op het festivalterrein in Kiewit waar je terecht kan voor optredens en skatewedstrijden.

Ook wordt 'The Buzz', een oude Lijnbus, jaarlijks overschilderd. Onder meer Johnny Boy, Pogo en Jellyfish mochten de bus - waarin tijdens het festival optredens plaatsvinden - al onder handen nemen.

De containers op de PKP DWNTWN zone van de festivalweide zijn intussen uitgegroeid tot een vaste waarde. Tuzq, Lindert Steegen en David Bruce mochten in het verleden al enkele containers beschilderen.

In het stadscentrum vind je nu ook een muurschildering die het 40-jarige jubileum van Pukkelpop onder de aandacht plaatst.
