Orchesterklang

Diese Arbeit entstand im Rahmen von MURAL CITY 2026 in Bremen, unter dem Motto „Beauty of Science". Elf Artists gestalteten elf Fassaden, jede mit einer Verbindung zu einem Forschungsfeld aus der Stadt.

Ordnung ist Bewegung, die niemand sieht. Edeltraut Raths Stil besticht durch Klarheit, Ordnung und Präzision: In geometrischer Farbfeldmalerei setzt sie Rechtecke und Quadrate in wechselnden Größen und Farben, in Wiederholungen und Strukturen. Genauigkeit ist ihr kein Zwang, sondern ein Wert, eine Ordnung, die den Blick lenkt, ohne den Raum für Interpretation zu verlieren. So arbeitet sie mit Struktur wie ein Logistiker, spielt aber frei mit den Feldern und bringt sie in ihre eigene Ordnung. 

Beim MURAL CITY – Beauty of Science schafft Edeltraut Raths Arbeit eine Verbindung zur Logistik. Sie ist das große Orchester des Alltags und sorgt dafür, dass alles zur richtigen Zeit, am richtigen Ort und in der richtigen Menge ankommt, ein unsichtbarer Takt, der Waren über Häfen, Straßen und Netze bewegt, in Bremen besonders kräftig. Ihre neuen Dirigenten sind Digitalisierung und Automatisierung, die aus dem Gewimmel aus Containern, Kränen und Wegen einen lesbaren Strom machen. Genau diese Ordnung im Fluss macht das Wandbild sichtbar.

This mural was created during MURAL CITY 2026 in Bremen, Germany, under the theme "Beauty of Science". Eleven artists painted eleven façades, each connected to a field of research based in the city.

Order is movement no one sees. Edeltraut Rath’s style is captivating in its clarity, order and precision: in geometric colour-field painting she sets rectangles and squares in changing sizes and colours, in repetitions and structures. Precision, for her, is not a constraint but a value, an order that guides the eye without losing room for interpretation. So she works with structure like a logistician, yet plays freely with the fields and brings them into her own order. 

Within MURAL CITY – Beauty of Science, Edeltraut Rath’s work creates a connection to logistics. It is the great orchestra of everyday life and makes sure that everything arrives at the right time, in the right place and in the right quantity, an invisible beat that moves goods across ports, roads and networks, and in Bremen it beats especially strongly. Its new conductors are digitalisation and automation, turning the swarm of containers, cranes and routes into a readable flow. It is exactly this order within the flow that the mural makes visible.
