Description

The Kloksteeg is a side street of the Phoenixstraat. Delft artist Micha de Bie gives the viewer a colourful history lesson about the Golden Age. The large mural consist of two parts. On the first part, coming from the Phoenixstraat, you will be introduced to 10 historical figures from Delft (or related to Delft). You will recognize the Girl with a Pearl Earring, William of Orange, Johannes Vermeer, Pieter de Hoogh and Hugo de Groot. Continuing towards the city you will see a second part on which there are buildings in all kinds of color shades. De Bie discovered these buildings in 5 paintings by Pieter de Hoogh (1629-1684). The black and white underside of the murals also refers to the work of Pieter de Hoogh.
