"My name is Piper. I’m cute, playful, and my humans adore me.
Yet my life started off badly, because I was found wandering in a fast-food parking lot, eating the leftovers that people had left behind...

Sheltered under a car, I was incredibly lucky that someone noticed me and offered me for adoption to my humans. I was only a few months old, and even seven years later, I still bear the scars.

Every year, as summer holidays approach — or sometimes on a simple whim, because after all we are “just” animals — people who can no longer be called human abandon their pets.
We are 45,000 every year, and that number only comes from the SPA [French Society for the Protection of Animals].
Think about it before you “give” us away just because we’re “cute.” I am a living being, and I am as sensitive as your children.
