Mixed Emotions

On the façade of Schiedamsesingel 193 there is a mosaic of black and white tiles forming a QR code.

Anyone curious enough to scan the code will be taken to artist Ludo Pieters’ website, to the artwork ‘Mixed Emotions’. The viewer is confronted with a range of faces staring back at them, set to a rhythmic piece of music.

Ludo Pieters is a Dutch artist and designer who often combines painting and rhythm in his work. His studio is aptly named Studio Beng – painter and percussionist.

Op de gevel van de Schiedamsesingel 193 bevindt zich een mozaïek van zwart witte tegeltjes dat een qr-code vormt.

Wie nieuwsgierig genoeg is om de code te scannen, belandt op de website van kunstenaar Ludo Pieters, bij het kunstwerk ‘Mixed Emotions’. De kijker wordt geconfronteerd met een scala aan gezichten die naar de kijker staren op een ritmisch muziekstuk.

Ludo Pieters is een Nederlands kunstenaar en ontwerper die in zijn werk vaak schilderkunst en ritme combineert. Zijn atelier heet dan ook Studio Beng – schilder en slagwerk.
