Following the tragic suicide of Chester Bennington in July 2017, graffiti artist PALAS spontaneously sprayed a portrait of the singer at "Hall of Fame" graffiti wall on Zollstraße in Essen. The location quickly transformed into a central memorial site for grieving fans from all over Germany. Because the original wall on Zollstraße was overpainted and the area was being redeveloped, fans founded the non-profit association LP "The Wall" Germany e.V.. With official permission from the city of Essen, the memorial was relocated to Kaiser-Wilhelm-Park (Essen-Altenessen). Inside a historic, circular pavilion, PALAS created a brand new Memorial Wall.
