Nina Valkhoff has a habit of painting animals, but this mural is her first underwater painting. She was inspired by the sculptures of flora and fauna on the building across the street, the "Hofbogen", amongst which are also sculptures of a frog and a duck. After putting two designs up for voting amongst residents of the area, one of a frog and one of a duck, the results came back more or less 50-50. She then decided to create a mural that featured both animals.

The monumental hofbogen is the longest building in the Netherlands at close to two kilometers and there used be train tracks on top. In the near future a park will be created on the roof of the building, so you will be able to enjoy this mural even better.
