Elke van Edom, eigenaresse van Café 't Klein Verlet, is ook blij met de nieuwe muurschildering. Eddy Merckx is na al die jaren nog steeds razend populair omdat fans van over de hele wereld naar zijn geboortestad blijven komen. Zo kwamen er onlangs fans uit Mexico langs. 'Deze muurschildering is zeker een toegevoegde waarde voor de vele fans en fietsers die hier langskomen. En natuurlijk zijn alle bezoekers en fietsers van harte welkom om even bij te tanken in Café 't Klein Verlet.'
