A whimsical, narrative series of framed murals painted on the exposed brick walls of Berrylands station, depicting local British wildlife navigating the daily morning commute.
The Concept: The artwork visualizes local animals engaging in human commuter routines, blending natural wildlife with the everyday train journey experience of local commuters.
Panel 1 (The Late Commuter): A separate framed panel depicts a grey squirrel rushing up station stairs to catch a train. The squirrel wears a striped necktie, carries a leather briefcase, and accidentally drops acorns behind as it hurries past a platform directional sign.
Panel 2 (The Train Carriage): Framed inside the outline of train windows, a group of passengers sit together on high-backed train seats:
A wide-eyed yellow frog sits in the foreground holding onto a seat, next to a duck.
Behind them, a rabbit checks a mobile phone.
To the right, a badger dressed in a collared shirt, tie, and flat cap reads a newspaper.
Outside the train windows, an autumnal countryside landscape with golden fields, trees, and a distant cottage scrolls past under a warm sunset sky.
Status & Details: The artwork is currently a work in progress, with the artist, Roo, planning to return to add finer illustrative details to complete the scene.
