À Calais, Shozy livre une œuvre qui dialogue avec le bâtiment qu'elle habite : il prolonge les fenêtres réelles, déforme les lignes architecturales et fait naître une ouverture impossible d'où surgit une matière rose abstraite, écho d'une ancienne façade aujourd'hui disparue. Le figuratif se dissout dans l'abstraction, l'architecture bascule dans l'illusion. Pour l'artiste, l'enjeu dépasse la prouesse technique : "montrer aux gens d'autres points de vue sur l'environnement, sur le monde réel." Il puise son inspiration dans les détails du quotidien, une ombre, une texture, qu'il accumule avant de les transformer en composition murale. Attaché à l'idée que le mur est un support plus "naturel" que la toile, il offre ici une fresque à hauteur de tous, y compris ceux qui ne s'intéressent pas d'ordinaire à l'art.

In Calais, Shozy delivers a piece that engages directly with the building it occupies: he extends the real windows, distorts the architectural lines and conjures an impossible opening from which an abstract pink material seems to burst forth, an echo of an old facade now vanished. The figurative dissolves into abstraction, the architecture tips into illusion. For the artist, the point goes beyond technical prowess: "to show people other perspectives on their surroundings, on the real world." He draws his inspiration from everyday details, a shadow, a texture, which he gathers before transforming them into a mural composition. Convinced that the wall is a more "natural" surface than canvas, he offers here a piece pitched at eye level for everyone, including those who don't usually pay attention to art.
