Vamos às Couves?

Artist Heitor Corrêa, together with Marcelo Clapp and Pedro Dalai and dozens of extra hands, has been working on a new mural, which is now part of Porto's Urban Art Program.

Based on dreams or memories from a more active subconscious, participants were asked to put on paper what they remembered about "working in the garden". This resulted in a "community garden" designed by users of the AEDS in Campanhã (Porto). People at AEDS are mostly young adults with mental disorders and pathologies, a large design was created that resembled a vegetable garden, in direct reference to the planting and gardening workshop developed in previous weeks.  

When thinking of a vegetable garden, there are elements you can't ignore, like cabbages. This work is a space that gives total autonomy and freedom of expression, “breaking the taboo and prejudice against those we call ‘different’”, says Heitor Corrêa.
