Lightbulbs

Description

This is a painted roller shutter featuring a pattern of light bulbs at 17 Electric Avenue in Brixton, London, designed by local artist and graphic designer Emma Hayes.

The pattern is inspired by Ankara fabrics, which are worn in Ghanaian culture and sold at Brixton Market.

The light bulbs are a playful reference to the street’s name: 'Electric' Avenue.
