This mural was co-designed with Healey Primary school and Rochdale's youth steering group. As part of Rochdale's town of culture 2025 Creative Youth Festival FAB.
I asked the young people what they thought of when they were asked about Rochdale, what it looks like from the eyes of todays youth. We came up with this design which show a young person studying a book of Rochdale one side looks to the heritage and one to the present and future. It talks about the importance of youth voices and creativity and its full of little easter eggs and hidden meanings.
I hope the young people I worked with love this mural as much as I've loved working with them to make it. Its been a super rewarding project and a honour to be able to paint something like this in my home town of Rochdale.
