At the invitation of the Municipality of Montegrotto Terme, Lélé and Ofet carried out a pictorial intervention on the monument dedicated to two local citizens who were victims of the Ustica massacre. The sculpture, composed of the fuselage of an aircraft seemingly emerging from a concrete base, already bears a strong symbolic value. The artists chose to amplify it with delicacy and poetry.
That “sea of concrete” has been transformed into a visual expanse of sky, a symbolic passage towards gentler and more serene horizons. Shades of blue, clouds, reflections, and hints of stars envelop the base of the monument in a graphic, dreamlike landscape that repositions the object within a space of hope and shared memory.
The intervention, carried out in the presence of residents and passers-by, was welcomed with enthusiasm and participation. A simple yet profound gesture, capable of uniting art and memory through a language that is accessible, respectful, and universal.
