Two ‘buoy-tiful’ art pieces were recently installed on Bullock Island, Lakes Entrance. Weighing approximately five tonne each and 12 metres in diameter, the buoys were painted by Melbourne artist Lukas Kasper.
Painted with unique artistic flare, these buoys have an amazing wow factor due to the vibrant colours and realism of the artist’s style. The artwork encourages viewers to walk around the buoys to find a surprise on either side. As the buoys are quite large, they will intrigue people from afar while also inviting them to move up closer to see the whole design.
There are two focal points on each buoy: this one features a marlin and a snapper swimming amongst the greenish blue water.
The buoys, originally located off Port Welshpool, were generously donated by Gippsland Ports.
