The factory must grow

The factory must grow. It needs more resources. It needs more space. We give it all to the factory. But what does the factory give us?

This mural is inspired by Jesse Havinga’s essay of the same name, in which the compulsive logic of the factory-building game Factorio becomes a mirror for industrial capitalism: the drive to expand without end. It asks whether building is play or compulsion, and who pays the price when the factory keeps growing.
