Silkscreen

Description

A painting by Algirdas Petrulis (1915–2010), winner of the National Culture and Arts Award, has been brought back to life! The artist’s grandson, contemporary urban artist Kipras Petrulis, transferred the classic work from a sheet of paper to the wall of Vilnius College (VIKO).

K. Petrulis chose one of the works from a series of six silkscreen prints created by A. Petrulis in 2005. It was drawn in ink using a brush and a pen.

Kipras is delighted that the work was created in Antakalnis, where his grandfather lived and worked, and spent his final days. The choice of work was also no accident—the artist believes that Lithuanian art should be promoted, not limited to only the most well-known works.
