Going into 2022, Lukas Kasper began a six-month full-time mural artist contract with Wodonga City Council. During this time, he was responsible for developing each project from the ground up, managing all aspects including paperwork, permits, designs, confirmations, paint sourcing, and the painting process itself. This role required not only the creation of murals but also the facilitation of large-scale public art projects. One of the standout works completed during this period was Vibrant Critters, which became one of ten murals in town.

This mural was located at the Baranduda Community Centre, situated next to a childcare facility. With this in mind, Lukas aimed to draw inspiration from the local environment while infusing imaginative elements that would spark curiosity in children. The final design featured a striking Rainbow Lorikeet and a Green Tree Frog, brought to life with as much vibrancy as possible.

Vibrant Critters was warmly received by the community and marked the beginning of Lukas’ extensive work in the Baranduda area, where he would go on to paint six more murals just outside Wodonga.
