Mark Gmehling has designed the wall of a popular Ice cream parlour in Dortmund at Rheinische Straße / Ritterstraße. A greedy tongue hanging out and a cherry topped ball of pistacio ice-cream, that was my first thought, looking at this artwork, which was new for me. Why can I not get rid of the suspicion, that this artwork is about something completely different than ice-cream?
