From September 19-27, 2015 the VIERTELPULS StadtRaumFestival invited to the Samtweberviertel in Krefeld to make the living space on our doorstep more livable and to rediscover the diversity in the district!

For nine days, the festival made neighborhood activities visible and enlivened the velvet weaver district. Because the houses and the life in our streets are a colorful mixture full of energy and possibilities!


In projects by design students, public spaces in the immediate vicinity of the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences have been upgraded in terms of design and made a new experience. But the commitment of the neighborhood was also taken up.


Around 50 campaigns by neighbors, institutions and associations, local companies and students from the design department invited people to rediscover the district in a diverse and creative way.


VIERTELPULS, was initiated and designed by the Competence Center Social Design and students of the HS Niederrhein, in cooperation with the UNS (Urban Neighborhood Velvet Weaving), the City of Krefeld (urban planning, city marketing, cultural office) and the state initiative StadtBauKultur NRW. VIERTELPULS is a contribution from the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences to the “Krefeld Change of Perspective 2015”.
