Yellow Submarine and Elf

“Wood Side Gallery” as part of the Krefeld change of perspective under the artistic direction of Fredda Wouters from Kevelaer in coperation with city marketing Krefeld.

The art in the old concrete tubes is really special and looks even better after years.

Unusual art in an unusual place. Under the title “Wood Art Gallery”, 20 artists from Germany, Italy, Mexico, USA, France, the Netherlands, Russia, Ukraine and Great Britain turned nature into a stage for their art objects. Many great street art motifs can be discovered, but also concrete pipes or slab paths become unique art installations on the area around the Krefeld Environment Center. The Wood Art Gallery was created in 2015, but can still be explored on your own today - as long as nature does not take back its “exhibition space”. But be careful: Weatherproof clothing is appropriate, it can get thorny and muddy in between.

Francesca Arsi, street painter and musician, lives and works in Italy. After training as a wall painter and restorer of frescoes and stucco work, she studied painting.

She has already shown her art in many exhibitions. Her work was even selected for "Athens Art 2010" and exhibited in the "Merena Project" and "The Others" galleries in Torino in 2013. It was not until the beginning of 2014 that she started painting the streets.

This place is very popular in Krefeld, because the beach bar is really nice and running by the Uerdinger Kaufmannsbund e.V.

Ruben Poncia, born in The Hague in the Netherlands, started his own business as a professional artist in 1996.

At first he mainly painted large advertising posters for new film or theater productions. This resulted in orders for wall painting, lettering and signage for shops as well as illustrations and cartoons for magazines.

He also painted acrylic or oil paintings in a realistic or surrealistic style and likes to use perspective tricks.

When he came into contact with street painting, he was able to use his perspective knowledge in anamorphic 3D street painting.

Meanwhile, the 3D street painting is his main occupation. He participates in many international festivals and travels around the world for painting assignments.

For him, street painting is a challenge and a performance. As a street painter you are outside in public and have to create your picture within a limited time. This art is a living illusion that passes as quickly as it arises.
