He admits to focusing more on traditional patterns in this particular work, there is a break where the repeating shapes appear to be torn apart with a gash. This fissure contains the word Saudade (‘missing’) in typography, recalling his graffiti career.

Diogo does not want this work to be known as a ‘Covid-19’ themed work; however, he admits that during the time of planning the word saudade seemed particularly pertinent. “During this time, everyone has missed something and things will never be the same again.”

ARTURb is a unique project in the Algarve that involves some of the most important names in urban art. This project consists of a period of artistic residency at LAC, followed by an exhibition at the same location and several public art interventions throughout the city of Lagos, guided tours and the launch of a catalogue.

During the period of artistic residency, artists have complete freedom to develop their work inside and outside the collective space of the LAC (former Lagos prison) which is available for any intervention, adaptation or artistic creation
