Hungarian concert pianist, one of the most influential and globally well-known musical performers. He was considered to be a master of the Romantic piano repertoire, and his improvisation skills ensured him a place among the greatest pianists of the 20th century. His unique career, mastery over the piano, personality and efforts made for young talented musicians are exemplary even today.

Hungary is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the worldwide celebrated Hungarian pianist Görgy Cziffra's birthday within the framework of an official Memorial Year, UNESCO also lists the jubilee as a recommended anniversary.
