Intimate Jungle

Esch-sur-Alzette is the second largest city in Luxembourg. Here, since 2014, the Festival, which started from the Kulturfabrik cultural center, has been carrying out an artistic and cultural program with the aim of transforming urban space in a sustainable way and promoting social cohesion throughout the Greater Region. The latter is a territory that extends and touches the whole of Luxembourg, the Belgian province of Liège, the French Lorraine, the Saarland and the German Rhineland. In this context, the latest work of the Italian artist was born.

Nature continues to represent the principle of each of Gola Hundun's productions. The author's research is linked to a reflection on the controversial relationship between humans and the entire biosphere, developed through a personal reinterpretation of the elements of flora.

At work on this large structure located on the rooftop of the Youth Hostel, Gola Hundun chooses an all-encompassing approach, absolutely changing the perception of the available space. The work depicts a series of leaves and plants literally suspended in the void. Agitated and guided by the wind, the natural elements contrast with the architecture and buildings in the work environment, while at the same time communicating with them through the chromatic choices of the Italian artist. The final result is a delicate painting, capable once again of emphasizing the need for a new balance between nature and man, between the elements that compose it and the constructions generated by the human presence.
