Tien duizend zwaluwen (Ten thousand swallows)

Deze mooie muurschildering van Studio Giftig is het eerste kunstwerk binnen het landelijke project Music & Murals. In dit project laten straatkunstenaars van Studio Giftig zich inspireren door muziek van lokale artiesten. Voor deze mural vormde het lied Tienduizend Zwaluwen van de Nieuwegeinse muzikant Spinvis de inspiratiebron.

Het lied gaat over de vraag of je een held zou zijn als dat nodig is, of dat je alleen maar toekijkt, net als de hoofdpersoon in het lied.

In de schildering is ook het schuurtje rechts van de muur op een mooie manier in het ontwerp verwerkt.

Bij de oplevering van de mural heeft Spinvis zelf het lied Tienduizend Zwaluwen gespeeld en gezongen.

Een leuk detail is dat Spinvis graag een komma in de muurschildering wilde terugzien. Die is ergens in het ontwerp verstopt. Dat is ook de reden waarom de officiële Street Art Route er een zoekvraag van heeft gemaakt: kun jij de verstopte komma vinden?

Ik heb uitgebreid gezocht, maar kan hem niet vinden. Zie jij hem?

This beautiful mural by Studio Giftig is the first artwork created as part of the nationwide Music & Murals project. As part of this project, the street artists of Studio Giftig draw inspiration from music by local artists. For this mural, the inspiration came from the song Tienduizend Zwaluwen by Nieuwegein musician Spinvis.

The song explores the question of whether you would be a hero if the situation called for it, or whether you would simply stand by and watch, just like the main character in the song.

The small shed to the right of the wall has also been cleverly incorporated into the design.

At the unveiling of the mural, Spinvis himself performed and sang Tienduizend Zwaluwen.

A fun detail is that Spinvis wanted a comma to be included somewhere in the mural. It has been cleverly hidden in the design. This is also why the official Street Art Route has turned it into a challenge: can you find the hidden comma?
